Presidency React to Buhari’s Death November 21, 2018 430 (Gowidenews) – T he Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution, Mr. Okoi Obono-Obla, has written to the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police seeking the probe of an alleged peddler of false claim of the death of President Muhammadu Buhari. Acknowledgment copies of the separate letters addressed to the Director General of the DSS, Mr. Yusuf Bichi, and the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, were obtained by The PUNCH on Tuesday. Copies of the letters dated November 14, 2018 were received at both the DSS and Police Force Headquarters in Abuja on November 6. Obono-Obla, whose office is domiciled in the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, specifically informed the heads of the security agencies in his petitions that one Bishop Eze Orieke made the false claim with purported documents from the London Bridge Hospital (Regional Medical Laboratory)...

Palestinian Court Sentences Two to 15 Years Imprisonment for Selling Land to Israelis  November 22, 2018 3:50 AM 22 NOV 3:50 AM (Gowidenews) The First Instance Court in Qalqilia, in the northern West Bank, on Wednesday, sentenced two Palestinians to 15 years in prison, with hard labor, after convicting them of selling Palestinian land to Israelis. The two, from the village of Kufr Thuluth, were part of a ring of land dealers involved in the attempt to sell lands in Jerusalem, Qalqilia, Nablus, Tulkarem and inside Israel, as well, to Israelis, in a deal that was supposed to have taken place last January. The Palestinian Preventive Security said, on its website, on Monday, that its units were able to arrest four people, one of them a lawyer, suspected of plotting to sell land to Israeli parties. Lebanese Army on Alert due to Israeli Threat Nov 21, 2018 (Gowidenews) Lebanese army commander Joseph Aoun on Wednesday ordered a combat alert in the country southern region against Israeli threats. The order by the military high command took into account that about 25 soldiers of the Tel Aviv regime crossed the border through the town of Wazzani and went to the east side of the river of the same name, the Lebanese National News Agency reported. According to the report, Israeli forces carried out a thorough search of the area for an hour, while a reconnaissance plane flew over southern Lebanese villages. Some few hours before, a Tel Aviv gunboat violated Lebanese territorial waters off the southern town of Ras al-Naqoura and maneuvered them for seven minutes. In view of these facts, the Lebanese army adopted combative positions and informed the UN Peacekeeping Forces in Lebanon, stationed in the area.
