Lebanese Army on Alert due to Israeli Threat


Nov 21, 2018 (Gowidenews) Lebanese army commander Joseph Aoun on Wednesday ordered a combat alert in the country southern region against Israeli threats.

The order by the military high command took into account that about 25 soldiers of the Tel Aviv regime crossed the border through the town of Wazzani and went to the east side of the river of the same name, the Lebanese National News Agency reported.

According to the report, Israeli forces carried out a thorough search of the area for an hour, while a reconnaissance plane flew over southern Lebanese villages.

Some few hours before, a Tel Aviv gunboat violated Lebanese territorial waters off the southern town of Ras al-Naqoura and maneuvered them for seven minutes.

In view of these facts, the Lebanese army adopted combative positions and informed the UN Peacekeeping Forces in Lebanon, stationed in the area.
