Russia, Iran discuss preparations for next round of Astana meetings on Syria

Gowidenews, SANA- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin discussed with Iranian Ambassador in Moscow Mehdi Sanaei preparations for the next round of Astana meetings on Syria and cooperation between the two countries in the regional and international domains.
The two sides discussed prospects of holding the 11th round of Astana meetings on Syria and the cooperation between the two countries in the bilateral regional and international spheres, particularly on the level of the nuclear agreement and the situations in Syria and Iraq, according to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA).
Last Monday, Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov announced in a press conference that representatives of the guarantor states of Astana process (Russia, Iran and Turkey) agreed on holding the 11th high-level meeting on the settlement of the crisis in Syria in framework of Astana process on Nov. 28-29.
Vershinin affirmed Moscow’s determination to push forwards the cooperation between the two countries at the international and regional circles on the basis of the signed agreements taking into consideration the mutual interests of Iran and Russia.
For his part, the Iranian Ambassador described the cooperation between Iran and Russia in the framework of the UN and in the international domains as a high-level cooperation.
