From our news report says that
Palestinian security services in Gaza yesterday destroyed $1 million worth of drugs in a public square in Gaza City, a statement said.

In a statement, Major General Nasser Sulieman, the head of the military prosecution in Gaza, said: “The damaged drugs included 1,242 sedative pills, 1,383.5 hash containers and 900g of opium.”

Sulieman said that he had permission from the specialist courts in Gaza to destroy these in a public place in the city.

Meanwhile, Palestinian MP Faraj Al-Goul said the drugs “would have corrupted the youth should they not have been seized”.

He called for the military prosecution to inflict the “harshest” punishment on the drug dealers, who he described as “criminals”.

A group tried to steal the drugs over the weekend before they were destroyed but police undermined the plan.
